Roll Cutter - Ethernet - Network - LAN Ad-Hoc Configuration

Ad-hoc networks connect to devices without the need of a router or server and switch.
This makes the computer to communicate directly with the cutter.
To accomplish this, the cutter has to be configured to operate in ad-hoc mode.

For this, we need to configure both cutter and computer to work with static IP addresses.

Follow next steps to set the LAN parameters of the cutter:

1.  Press [Settings].

2. Press [More].

3. Press [Communication].

4. Press [LAN].

5.  Press [DHCP].

6.  Use the [Up]-key or [Down]-key to select the option Off and press [Apply] to confirm, as the connected computer usually has no DHCP server running. It also prevents the cutter from changing the IP address.

7. Press [Configure]

8.  Change the IP address and Subnet mask to meet the fixed IP address of the computer. Normally, the first three numbers of the IP address on the computer and cutter are equal; the last number should be different. Eventually, press to change the IP address or Subnet mask to meet the settings of the computer. Default values for the cutter are as follows:
IP address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

9. Press [Home] to finalize the configuration.

Finally, the static IP address of the computer needs to be set:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Select Control Panel.

3. View your Internet and network connections.

· In Windows XP:

A. Click the Network and Internet Connections link.

B. Click the Network Connections link.

· In Windows Vista/7:

A. Click the Network and Internet link.

B. Click the Network and Sharing Center link.

C. View your network connections.

o In Vista, click the Manage network connections link.

o In 7, click the Change adapter settings link.

4. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon.

5.  From the drop-down list, select Properties.

6. In Vista, click the Continue button.

7. Select your Internet protocol.

· In XP, select Internet Protocol TCP/IP.

· In Vista/7, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

8. Click the Properties button.

9. Select the Use the following IP address: radio button.

10. In the IP address: text box, type your IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.101

11. In the Subnet mask: text box, type your subnet mask, e.g. 255.255.255.0

12. Click OK and Close to confirm the changes.
